Born to a Greek father and Irish mother in Athens, Salpa moved to Ireland aged four and was raised in Killiney, near Dublin. Her mother paints. She is the eldest of four children, having two sisters and one brother. In secondary school she was, in her own words, "a bit of a nerd always very thin and had really curly afro hair and had to wear glasses and a patch over one eye". After school she backpacked the globe for two years, visiting more than 30 countries including India, Thailand, Costa Rica, Brazil, Australia and Hong Kong.
In Ireland, Salpa has undertaken modelling assignments for various publications. She has made TV appearances on such programmes as The Podge and Rodge Show, Republic of Telly, Celebrity Salon and Catwalk to Kilimanjaro.
She reached a new peak in the presence of public consciousness in August 2009 after posing in a bikini for a controversial photoshoot for Food & Wine magazine alongside chef Neven Maguire. The magazine apologised after those offended vented their fury on Liveline.
Salpa has featured in both the Norwegian and Polish versions of FHM.
Salpa then shocked her Sleeping Beauty colleagues, including Alan Hughes, in late 2011 when she quit the pantomime via a text message days before it began.
Salpa has since moved over to the UK, where, as of January 2012, she is participating in the Channel 5 show Celebrity Big Brother. While in the House she used crude language and dismissed her relationship with Calum Best as "a simple fling". In an interview for big brother, she also admitted to once punching a horse in the face. She is currently up for eviction and could face being the first evicted housemate. Georgia has told sources she would be utterly devastated if she was the first to leave.
